Who is Bronwyn Whittle?
I am an emerging artist, constantly learning. I’ve worked as a performing artist for the last 5 years in NYC, but as a result of Covid-19 I had the time on my hands to finally focus on painting.
How do you work and who are your customers?
I make custom art for folks. I engage in a dialogue with each customer and we talk about what inspires them. I work with them in terms of interior design to figure out which room will this go in, what’s the colour palette we are working with etc. when I have all of this information I design a unique abstract piece that’s only for them. I never duplicate any piece. I like to make art that can be interpreted a lot of different ways in the hopes that people will engage in conversation about their different perspectives.
What do you pay attention to when painting?
I specialize in abstract and geometric art in acrylics. I draw and paint everything free hand. I focus on hard edges and fine point detail.
Your most important objective?
My goal is for people to have art in the house that is unique and special for them.
Do you have a philosophy?
My philosophy is to follow your bliss. You can not control what someone will see in your art, every person sees a different piece and that’s what makes it special.
Thank you very much, Bronwyn.
Bronwyn Whittle ★ Artist resume
Bronwyn is an Irish artist currently based in Brooklyn, NY. Bronwyn and her partner Nicholas work together to design custom pieces of abstract/geometric art based on the inspirations of each individual buyer. Every piece is different and they never remake a piece of art. Bronwyn then goes on to transfer, scale, and paint these designs using acrylic on canvases or wood. Customizing art for people over the last couple of months has been an interesting exercise to peek into the mindset of people during the pandemic, and a great chance to ask each other questions that we are not asking much of these days: “What gives you hope? What is inspiring you today?”.
