My love of painting has accompanied me my entire life, but besides a short stint at art school in my early twenties, my career has developed in other directions (PhD in physics, finance). My art allows me to combine the math and logic, expressed by the bold geometric forms, with my emotions that are reflected by the sensuality of the vivid oil paints.
WHAT + WHY
In 2020 I have experienced tragic events that caused me to reconsider my life goals, and I have decided to invest myself into what I love: my art. My painting style has also changed from the purely aesthetic and became more expressive with figurative and symbolic touches, reflecting my emotions and allowing for liberation and personal growth.
The style of my painting is abstract, geometric and colorful, with an emphasis on a combination of shape and color that express an idea or a theme. My art allows me to combine the math and logic, expressed by the bold geometric forms, with my emotions that are reflected by the sensuality of the vivid oil paints. A lot of my paintings begin with a basic plan in mind, sometime sketched in pencil. However as I start with the oils, it can go anywhere.
When I paint, my goal is always to be surprised and to discover something new that I didn’t know I had in me. It is almost a mystical experience. I want to be surprised by the result, to discover a mood, or a feeling, or an ability that I wasn’t aware of.
The worst enemy of creativity is fear. I try to always be brave when I paint.
