Jordann Wine’s universe revolves around geometry
Hello Jordann, who are you?
I am an artist based outside of the DC area who creates paintings, drawings and murals. My work is inspired by sacred geometry and mathematical concepts.
What are the cornerstones of your work?
My paintings are made with either acrylic or glitter on canvas and panel and also as large scale wall murals. My work is guided by math and pattern making as I am interested in the sense of order and balance achieved within these concepts.
What do you want to achieve with your art?
I make my art for my own sense of wellbeing and ultimately hope that is transferred to my audience. I also hope to create art that is visually engaging inspires an intrigue in my use of unique mediums and compositions.
Do you have specific objectives?
I create my art because it makes me feel good. It provides an overall sense of well being and even if I couldn’t sell my work, I would still create it. It is my hope that this sense of calm and respite is also found in the work by my audience. I believe that we are all creative in some ways, we just have different ways of expressing it.
Do you have a message to share?
I want the everyday people to feel and be close to art and the art world in a raw and natural way. I think it should be available for everyone to see.
Jordann’s final statement
My painting process is a bit tedious and repetitive but it is through this repetition that I am able to create work that is balanced, expansive and hopefully a joyous experience for the viewer.
I ultimately hope my work conveys a sense of curiosity for the greater parts of the Universe that we as humans might not yet fully understand. Most importantly, I want my work to bring a sense of unity and connectedness as we all seek for balance in our daily lives.
