Minimalist art by Tim Oder (aka ReDo)
Hello Tim, please tell us who you are
I am an artist, designer and engineer. I grew up in Moscow, Russia, where I studied physics and mathematics. At 20, I moved to Israel and entered an engineering program at Shankar. I left after 2 years – to become an industrial designer at HIT. During my studies, I was inspired by the Bauhaus movement and minimalism. As an artist, I strive to show strength and beauty in basic elements such as line, shape and color.
What do you do and how do you see your art?
I create paintings, murals and paper sculptures. I exploring visual field through line, shape, color and texture, because I believe that Art more than a matter of optical effects, art aspires to transcendence.

Simplicity, clarity, leanness, lightness, transparency, balance.
What is your current goal, Tim?
My goal is to explore visual language and create artwork which provide the viewer with experience that were powerful, revelatory, and transcendent.
Your art philosophy?
Too much freedom leads to wasted time and efforts. Limitation brings focus and control.

Child of the Russian avant-garde. Cosmopolitan. Artist, designer and engineer. Tim creates paintings, murals and sculptures based on simplicity, clarity and balance. He believes that limitation gives focus and control. And his works provide the viewer a powerful, revelatory and transcendental experience.
