I’m an artist born and based in Berkeley, CA. He currently attends The University of California Berkeley and creates paintings, murals, wood sculptures, and even tattoos. My practice is unified by graphic, abstract, and illustrative qualities.
What does painting mean to you?
I paint, illustrate, make murals, stickers, and even shirts. I make something for everyone and I enjoy adding a sense of meaning and light to people’s everyday experiences. I create every day to explore the boundaries of my own creative capacity and understand how my mental state shifts the flow of the forms I create and the characters that come to define my experiences and aesthetic values in art.
Let’s talk about your style
I often use abstract color blocking of organic and geometric forms together and i often depict portraits with cubist motifs and fractured compositions with different textures and colors that form a type of landscape. Another thing i like to do is using very saturated and usually highly tinted pigments, weaving them together with black surfaces or darker backgrounds and spaces.
My goal is to add interesting things to our surroundings and play with light, color and, shape to provide people with an interesting visual experience. I am interested in my paintings functioning in domestic spaces alongside people’s everyday activities as well as within non-normative contexts. I hope to make more art that is an experience for people walking, sitting, or simply seeking something novel.
My philosophy is to grow and sustain a practice that allows me to fulfill all my myriad of desires to explore various mediums and how they can function in relation to me and thereafter others.
