Vetro Artes works on impossible objects
Hi Vetro Artes! Who are you and what do you do?
I’m a Brazilian Visual Artist who loves geometric abstraction and op art, influenced by MC Escher, Victor Vasarely and Bridget Riley.
Was there a specific reason for you to start painting?
I started making art as a teenager to ease my anxiety issues.
And did it help you?
I think that right now I’m in my best form and I feel happy with my art.
How do you feel about your art style?
I define it as Geometric Abstract Art and I like how it can be seen in different ways, depending on the day or person. Geometric Abstraction is a kind of love that I can’t understand. I just feel it.
Do you devote yourself to your art full time?
Nope. Art is not my main work or full time job.
What advice can you give?
My most important tip: Be true to your instincts.
What do collectors say about your work?
I’m still trying to find that out.
What setting do you need to be able to create?
It doesn’t matter. It can be anywhere. I just need need enough space.
Who inspires you?
People who are true to their passions and conquer their obstacles, because that’s something difficult to do.
Your wish for 2022?
To work freely and without boundaries.
How do you motivate yourself to work, when required?
I don’t have to consciously motivate myself. I’m truly naturally motivated to make art all the time.
Would you like to collaborate with other artists?
I prefer working on my own.
What do you aim to achieve with your work?
My artistic goal is to be able to express my feelings and to have a good time while doing it.
I think art is something that brings us closer to our natural selves.
